Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ7Canon EOS 400D

I would like to have my own digital camera. So guys, please help me decide which camera should I buy.

The camera I’m looking at is either Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ7 or Canon EOS 400D.

p.s.
The photos I posted earlier are mostly taken using my father-in-law Canon EOS 30D.

   Ialah.... since I can always borrow the lenses & flash from my in-law, I should get the 400D.
   
   Also I can also borrow your 400mm lens.... hahaha
